Dallas News | myFOXdfw.com Body found in bobtail truck - FOX 4 News

DALLAS -

Police making a traffic stop in southern Dallas County found something surprising in the cab of a big rig truck.

A DPD spokesman says besides the driver, there was a dead body in the bobtail truck.

The routine traffic stop happened about 4 a.m. when a patrol officer noticed a problem with the truck's brakes. The officer flipped on his lights and pulled the driver over on the freeway on-ramp from Bonnieview Road to eastbound I-20.

As the officer was talking to the driver, he spotted a dead man on the floorboards of the passenger side.

The victim is described as a black male, between 40 and 45 years old, who may have died of stab wounds.

Police aren't sure if the victim owned the truck or exactly why the driver had the body in the cab with him. It's not clear if the truck was reported stolen.

The driver was taken to police headquarters to tell his story.

No identities have been released in this case yet. Stay with FOX 4 News and myfoxdfw.com for the latest information.
