DALLAS â€" A two-alarm fire forced residents of a high-rise living facility for seniors in North Dallas to evacuate on Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the Midpark Towers apartments at 8550 Midpark Road about 2:30 p.m.

Residents told us they evacuated after an announcement about a small fire on the 10th floor of the north tower of the complex.

The fire was extinguished in less than an hour.

About 15 to 20 evacuated residents took cover in the shade as the temperature outside hovered about 100 degrees.

Dallas Fire-Rescue also set up a rehabilitation area for firefighters due to the extreme heat.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
