A vacant tract at the Dallas Market Center will be developed into a major medical facility.
The 4.6-acre tract is on the east side of Stemmons Freeway, just south of Medical District Drive. Itâs next door to the Childrenâs Medical Center building, and part of the property is used by the Hank Haney Golf Center.
Dallas Market Center Land L.P. is seeking city approval to develop the land for the Dallas Proton Treatment Center.
UT Southwestern Medical Center plans to operate the $225 million, 100,000-square-foot advanced medical facility.
The project is set to start early next year and would be funded and owned by Advanced Particle Therapy, a San Diego-based firm that owns similar facilities in San Diego, Baltimore and Atlanta.
The centers used advanced proton therapy to treat cancerous tumors.
